EU Moves to Phase Out PFAS Pesticides On March 12, 2025, EU Member States officially voted to permanently ban flufenacet, a pesticide belonging to the family of PFAS – “forever chemicals” known for their extreme persistence and toxic effects.
A recent investigation has uncovered a worrying presence of PFAS — known as “forever chemicals” — in some popular bottled mineral waters in France.
🌍 The European Commission has taken a significant step by proposing a ban on the PFAS pesticide flufenacet. This marks an important milestone in the ongoing efforts to phase out substances with persistent and harmful impacts on the environment and human health.
